Abstract
The study is an investigation into the information needs of lecturers and students of College of Health Science, Benue State University, Makurdi. Descriptive survey design was used. The population was give hundred and eighty-four, which was made up of thirty-four lecturers and five hundred and fifty students.
Proportionate stratified random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of one hundred and fifty students. The instrument of study was questionnaire. The study identified subject areas where lecturers and students need information needs as basic medical sciences, pathology, physiotherapy, surgery, pharmacology and public health. Inadequate online collection and incessant power failure were the problems militating against these needs. It was recommended that medical library should work towards meeting the information needs of lecturers and students by providing full fledge information and communication technologies. This will enable them to access various forms of sources electronically.
