Abstract
Cerebro vascular accident “CVA or stroke refers to any functional abnormality of the central nervous system that occurs when the normal blood supply to the brain is disrupted. Stroke is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in the world and has become a threat to human survival; hence this paper discusses the role of nurses in provision of information on stroke, its prevention and self care. Some recommendations were also proffered by the writers to help minimize the occurrence of stroke and the amount of lives lost through it.
